Happy New Year from the Bowmans in Bavaria to all of you!
We spent our holidays with our family and friends in Indianapolis and Cinicinnati, and had a great visit with everyone. While in Cincinnati, we went to the Cincinnati History Museum, and in Indianapolis, the Children’s Museum. The Indianapolis Colts, our favorite American football team, lost their playoff game, but at least we were able to watch the game during the live broadcast with our friends.
Superdude got to meet his extended family for the first time, which was great. He seemed to take it all in stride. Both he and Rosebud were fantastic travelers, too. I was so proud of both of them. Rosebud, in particular, did great in the airports and on the planes. Now that she’s completed six transatlantic trips, she knows what to expect and was very excited to go on the planes. We were blessed by good weather on all our travel dates, so everything went very smoothly.
I find it hard to believe that we have already lived in Bavaria for two years. It seems like only yesterday when we moved here, but also it feels like it has gone by so quickly. Rosebud was just 8 1/2 months when we moved, and President Obama had only just been inaugurated. And I couldn’t have imagined that we would already have another baby in our family.
We look forward to sharing the coming year with all of you. We hope to do some more traveling – to Paris to visit a dear friend and former student of mine; to England to visit the British “Aunties”; and to Denmark to visit three friends and their families. So it should be another exciting year for us.
Thank you to all of you who have visited our family blog. I enjoy writing about our experiences and sharing them with all of you. And, hopefully, you have learned a little along the way about Germany through the eyes of an American family.
